Visa Day

Today was a free day, with the exception of the time we had to stay in our room to wait for a call from our guide, who was placing Sophie's visa application.  We had to wait in the room in case there were any questions.  She called at 11:30 and said that everything was good, so we were able to get out for a bit.

We walked around the island for a little bit and grabbed a bite of lunch.  While we were eating, it started raining, and we had no umbrella.  We had to hurry through the rain back to the hotel.  It rained most of the rest of the day.

Tomorrow we go to the pearl market before going to the consulate for our swearing in.  We are getting more and more excited about coming home!!

We loved the pearl market. If they have the lady there offering samples of hot tea, definitely do it. It's the most delicious tea you ever tasted!

The consulate appointment is a breeze. Not much to it really. They have an employee that gives a little speech and then your guide will go through your paperwork with one of their officials. The ride there will be a good way to see a bit more of the city.

I sure the excitement is setting in for your homecoming. It won't be long. My brother just made it to Hong Kong. He was almost there at the same time as you.
