Sophie's First Independence Day

Sophie's First Independence Day
We had a great time on Independence Day this year. Sophie got to enjoy all of the things that come along with the holiday, with the exception of fireworks. She ate homemade ice cream and watermelon and enjoyed playing outside with cousins and swimming! She enjoyed every minute, as we did watching her experience it for the first time. We are so happy that she is here with us now and can enjoy all of the freedoms that come along with being a citizen of the USA!

Another Weekend in Orange Beach

Last weekend we paid another visit to Orange Beach. We were not able to go out on the boat, as the waters were closed due to oil, but we did have a good time anyway. Bo had a small list of little jobs he wanted to do around our place, so Sophie and I spent the morning grocery shopping and playing together. Sophie took a long nap Saturday afternoon, so I was able to get a few shots of her sleeping so peacefully.

On Saturday afternoon, Tim, Michele, Nick, and Anna Kay drove down to go to dinner with us at Wolf Bay Lodge. After a tasty dinner of seafood, we headed over to the beach to let the kids play in the sand. I had been wanting to get some beach pictures of Sophie, and it appeared that we had timed the sunset perfectly.

Sophie wasn't real sure about walking in the sand to begin with,

but she, Nick, and Anna Kay quickly begain playing in the sand.

Then Sophie and her Baba took a walk along the beach,

while Nick and Anna Kay ran back and forth from the sand dunes down to where we were sitting.

We all had a really good time. The temperature was just right, and we felt as though we could sit for hours. Bedtime was closing in quickly, though, so we had to hurry home.

It was a great weekend!
