Birthdays, Vintage Fashion, and Fun Football Wins

This weekend was filled was lots of fun things. Our weekend began Saturday with a birthday lunch for my sister, Beth, and her daughter, Emily. Our mother cooked a big, delicious lunch, and of course we had to have cake and ice cream for dessert. What's a birthday without cake and ice cream? After lunch we went to a couple of local stores shopping. The first place we went has vintage clothing. My nieces are really into vintage things now, so they thought it was a lot of fun.

We ended the day with football. We watched Ole Miss upset Florida, Auburn beat Tennessee, and then Alabama upset Georgia. The last one was our favorite by a long shot. My sisters, brother-in-law, and I are all graduates of the University of Alabama, and our families have always been Alabama fans, so we had a blast watching this game. We knew we could beat Georgia, but never dreamed it would have turned out the way it did. Hopefully, we can keep up the pace! We still have a lot of good teams ahead of us.

Enjoy the pics of the weekend, and keep an eye on Mike and Rhonda's blog - there is link to the right under Expecting Referrals Soon. They will see their precious daughter's face for the first time this week, so check there often. They are so excited to be meeting their sweet Hannah soon!

Another funny hat. Could you imagine wearing one of these?

Grandparent's Day

Nicholas with Bebe and Pawpaw Bo

On Friday, we went to a Grandparent's Day program at our grandson's preschool. The kids sang songs and told us what they had been learning, after which we had refreshments. It's amazing to see what little sponges these children are and how smart!

Nicholas, Thank you for inviting us to Grandparent's Day. Bebe and Pawpaw Bo love you very much!!

Babysitting and a Beach Wedding

We had a busy weekend. We started by going to the beach to cut plywood and get things ready in case we have to board up for a hurricane. Thank goodness there's no immediate threat of one, but it should be easy to board up now if one decides to come our way. While at the beach, we attended Bo's nephew's wedding on the beach. It was beautiful and sweet ceremony. Today, we got to babysit our granddaughter, Anna Kay, while our grandson, Nicholas, and his mom went to see Sesame Street live. Anna Kay was a gem, and we enjoyed the time we got to spend with all of them today.

Enjoy the pictures from the weekend!
